Statement from Don Grace, President LVRSL 01 June 2010:


On Friday night 28th May 2010, Don Ryan of Lenah Valley RSL Sub Branch was presented with Life Membership of the League by newly elected Deputy State President Chris Oakes. About 100 people were present for the presentation to Don who has been a member of Lenah Valley for more than 40 years.


“It was hard to keep it a secret as this award was read out two weeks earlier at State Congress” Lenah Valley President Don Grace stated.

Original member of the Civil Defence and Emergency Service (forerunner of State Emergency Service (SES)) and served as Deputy Controller for City of Hobart 1958-1970.


Awarded Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia in the General Division in June 2017 ‘For service to veterans and their families’.
