Former Industrial Chemist Dies
MR. BENJAMIN ERIC ANDERSON, of Auvergne Ave., New Town, died on Thursday afternoon, age 62. He will be cremated today at the Cornelian. Bay crematorium.
He is survived by a wife and two daughters, Josephine (Mrs. Payne, Montrose), and Margaret. He was for many years an industrial chemist in charge of the superphosphate works at the Electrolytic Zinc Co. works at Risdon, but subsequently became fertiliser sales manager.
He was a member of the Australian Chemical Institute. Although not an active sportsman for many years, he kept in touch with football and tennis events.
A keen political follower, he was a past president of the New Town branch, of the Liberal Party. He was also a former member of the Scots' Church.
Mr. Anderson was born in Victoria, and, after living at, Port Pirie (S.A.) came to Tasmania in 1920.

Former Industrial Chemist Cremated
THE cremation of Mr. Benjamin Eric Anderson took place at the Cornelian Bay cemetery on Saturday. The service was conducted by the Rev. H. L. Dunn, of Scots Church, and the Rev. W. F. Paton.
Among the large gathering, which included employees and executives of the Electrolytic Zinc Co. works at Risdon, were Messrs. R. A. Hopper (stepbrother), C. A. Payne (son-in law), M. B. Reid, J.H. Clennett, and Dr. J. S. Reid (brothers-in-law).
Mr. Anderson for many years was an industrial chemist in charge of the superphosphate works of the Zinc Co., and subsequently became fertiliser sales manager.
He is survived by a wife and two daughters, Josephine (Mrs. Payne, Montrose), and Margaret.
